Introduction
Underboard MDF15 is a 15mm thick square edged wood board underfloor heating panel floated or mechanically fixed over a flat and even timber or solid subfloor.
A finished floor deck of 6mm ply, screedboard, or similar is mechanically fixed over the panels when pipe loops have been installed. When using tiles or vinyl finishes, it is recommended that the Underboard panel is mechanically fixed down, you must refer to the tile or vinyl manufacturers recommendations.
The 15mm panel height makes it suitable where there is not enough floor-to-ceiling height to allow a standard height system to be installed. The panel has a multi-directional design for ease of installation. The universal panel is simply laid across the floor with no loop ends or straights to configure. The inclusion of the foil diffuser increases the output and is pierced as the 12mm pipe is pressed into the channels.
A floating floor is a floor which literally floats over a new or existing slab or an existing timber based structural deck. In most cases mechanical fixing is not required, we do however recommend that you should check the installation requirement set out by the final floor covering manufacturer.
